General Dentistry
Dr. Rachel Chen
Dr. Rachel Chen is a transplant to Washington after having grown up in both Asia and Canada. She had attended undergrad at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C. and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from China Medical University in Taiwan in 2010. After working in a hospital and private practice in Taiwan for a few years, she moved to the United States to pursue further education and training.

Dr. Chen spent a year receiving advanced postgraduate training through the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (A.E.G.D.) program at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she provided service to various populations including special needs, medically compromised, geriatric, and pediatric patients. Subsequently, she went on to receive additional training and provide dental care to underserved communities in Central Washington through the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinics and Columbia Valley Community Health Clinics prior to joining Light Dental Studios.

Dr. Chen is committed to providing the highest quality dental treatment to patients with compassion and care. She continues to further and refine her knowledge and skills through various continued education courses. Community involvement is important to her as well and she has been active in volunteering throughout her life – including the provision of free dental care to rural villages in Cambodia in 2011.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Chen loves travelling, food, photography, and spending quality time with family and friends.
