Dr. Steven Broughton is the founder and president of Light Dental Studios. He earned a bachelor's degree in Speech Communications with a minor in Business from Whitworth College, where he also served as Executive Vice President of the Student Council. After this, he earned a degree in Pre-Medicine from the University of Washington. Dr. Broughton graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1997.
Dr. Broughton has received numerous awards and recognition including the Outstanding Young Dentist of the Year from the American College of Dentists. The American College of Dentists is an invitation-only society that invites less than 2.5% of all dentists to be fellows. He is also the recipient of the 1999 American Dental Association's Golden Apple Award. At that time, only 7 dentists from Washington state had received the Golden Apple Award. He received the 1997 Award of Excellence from the American Student Dental Association, the 1997 Johnny N. Johnson Award from the UW School of Dentistry, and the 1997 Special Achievement Award from the Washington State Dental Association.
Dr. Broughton approaches his patients with the utmost care and his focus is patient-centered. He believes that the patient's comfort and needs drive every treatment modality. He treats every patient the way he would expect to be treated himself.
Dr. Broughton married his wife Ann in 1993. They have two daughters, Kathryn and Claire. Dr. Broughton is an avid wakeboarder and snow skier.
