At Light Dental Studios, we offer a White for Life Program for new patients with a Valpak coupon. We also have a special referral program, so if you refer a patient to our office who is not an immediate family member, you and that person will receive free White for Life. It is an at-home bleaching product that you control. At each cleaning, you are given a tube of bleach product absolutely free (cancellations and no-shows will invalidate your free bleach for that cleaning only). It is a great way to brighten your smile with little time or cost investment in the comfort of your own home.

A Waterpik is an excellent tool used in addition to brushing and flossing. It works very well to clean around braces and for patients with deeper pockets and active gum disease. We have had great success at healing deeper pockets of gum disease by having patients put Chlorhexidine, an antimicribial mouthrinse, in their Waterpik water tank. Once you try a Waterpik, you will likely never go without again. It makes your breath very fresh on top of keeping your teeth and gums healthy.

Without a doubt, you will hear the dentists, dental assistants, and dental hygienists mention the benefits of power toothbrushes to our patients. There are tens of scientific studies showing that power brushes by far outperform manual toothbrushes at removing plaque and keeping the teeth and gums healthy. We do sell different power brushes from the Oral B Vitality to the Sonicare in our offices. There are many brands, costs, and features available in terms of power brushes. We find that patients do well with any brush that has a 2 minute timer and is rechargeable.

If you feel you could benefit from the fresh breath a tongue scraper can offer you, ask your dentist or hygienist about it at your next visit. The tongue, being a very rough surface, can harbor a lot of odor producing bacteria. These bacteria can be removed with the aid of a tongue scraper, and you will definitely notice the fresh difference.

Prevident 5000 and Clinpro are prescription strength fluoride toothpastes that we recommend for any patients with a high risk of developing decay. This may include patients with dry the mouth from syndromes or medications, patients with a history of decay, anyone undergoing cancer treatment, or patients with sensitivity. We offer different blends of the toothpastes including a dry mouth option, sensitivity, and fruit flavoring. 

This is a high strength antimicrobial mouthwash that we recommend for any patient needing to reduce the amount of bacteria in the mouth. We may want to reduce bacteria after surgeries to prevent infection. For patients with aggressive periodontal (gum) disease or decay, we recommend Chlorhexidine as a daily mouthrinse or as an additive to the Waterpik (see above). Prolonged use of full strength Chlorhexidine is not recommended due to staining and disruption of the normal flora of the mouth.

Breath RX is breakthrough in mouthrinse to drastically reduce mouth odor without the burn of alcohol. It kills bacteria in the mouth producing odor using a specially formulated blend of Zytex which contains natural substances like Zinc, Clove Oil, and Thyme. We have these available in smaller bottles for individual use, or large gallons for the whole family. We highly recommend this for any patients with concerns about breath odor.
