Dr. Alex Jeon

"Dr. Alex Jeon was born in South Korea and moved to the U.S. with his family when he was 8 years old. He spent the majority of his early years growing up in Minnesota. Dr. Jeon was a relatively shy child, but he quite literally found his voice through singing in choir and began to excel. He was accepted to the Minnesota All-State Men's and Mixed choirs, was chosen to receive multiple awards for choral excellence by his teachers and peers, sang live during MPR's 50th anniversary broadcast with his acapella group, and earned a music scholarship at Gustavus Adolphus College, where he obtained his undergraduate degree in Biology.

While he enjoyed singing, Dr. Jeon always wanted to be in the health field. It was during his time in college that he began shadowing different health professions and soon realized that dentistry was one of only a few careers where his work could immediately have such a significant positive impact on someone's health. Dr. Jeon ultimately decided to pursue a career in dentistry and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in southern California.

Dr. Jeon grew up being afraid of the dentist, and finds the most fulfillment when he is able to provide care to patients to improve oral health, increase quality of life, take away pain, and ease some of the anxiety that can come from the dental setting. He believes in whole-person care and enjoys meeting people of diverse backgrounds.

When he is away from the dental office, Dr. Jeon enjoys watching and playing tennis, finding good places to eat, and spending quality time with his wife. He is also learning to play the guitar, and while he is no longer part of a choir or an acapella group, he still enjoys a good sing-along in the car."
