What is the Difference Between Braces and Invisalign?

Both Braces and Invisalign (clear aligners) are effective ways to straighten teeth, but one option may be more suited for your unique situation.

Traditional braces:

Braces are brackets and wires that move the teeth. It is great for more complex bite issues. There is no need to remember to wear them as they are glued to your teeth and always working. However, it is important to be careful not to eat foods that are too hard or sticky so that brackets don’t break and slow treatment progress.

Invisalign:

Invisalign is a series of clear trays that are custom made for your teeth to align them. They are less noticeable than braces and easier to keep your teeth clean with brushing and flossing. However, they require more commitment for the patient as they need to be worn at least 22 hours per day to be effective.

So, which is better? That depends on your specific needs and lifestyle. During an orthodontic consultation, your orthodontist will help you make the best decision for your treatment.
